The Al Manara Project
Medasia Marine completed what’s described as the largest Flexiteek synthetic decking installation to date — covering over 720 sqm — on the 52-metre Al Manara Yacht Villa.
The project is positioned as a new benchmark for large-scale synthetic decking in luxury yacht-villa and floating residence applications, going beyond typical superyacht scales.
Technical & Material Advantages
The installation spanned multiple exterior levels (terraces, circulation areas, leisure zones) and required bespoke panel engineering and thermal-movement management to ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.
Using Flexiteek synthetic decking, the project emphasises:
Lower maintenance vs natural teak
Improved UV resistance
Dimensional stability and durability in harsh marine climates like the Middle East’s.
“The key to success in consulting is always going above and beyond what is expected.” — James O. McKinsey
Sustainable & Durability
In addition to technical benefits, the installation supports Flexiteek’s environmental initiative (with contributions to tree-planting/reforestation programs based on area installed).
The release positions Abu Dhabi as an emerging hub for advanced marine construction and floating developments, and reaffirms Medasia Marine’s capability in executing complex large-format marine projects.
Designed to withstand harsh marine environments, Flexiteek is UV-resistant and capable of handling extreme temperatures. Unlike real teak, it doesn’t crack, fade, or deteriorate over time. It also has a non-slip surface, providing added safety, especially when wet.
Flexiteek can be customized to fit various deck shapes and designs. It can be tailored to suit different styles, offering options like caulking lines, borders, and patterns. This versatility allows boat owners to achieve a personalized and unique look for their vessels.
ECO- FRIENDLY
THE PRODUCTION OF NATURAL TEAK INVOLVES DEFORESTATION, WHICH HAS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPLICATIONS. FLEXITEEK, MADE FROM RECYCLABLE PVC, IS AN ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS ALTERNATIVE THAT REDUCES THE NEED FOR TEAK HARVESTING. ADDITIONALLY, AT THE END OF ITS LIFE, FLEXITEEK CAN BE RECYCLED, CONTRIBUTING TO A MORE SUSTAINABLE BOATING INDUSTRY.
Flexiteek is primarily used in the marine industry for decking on boats, yachts, and houseboats. It can be installed on new vessels or retrofitted to existing ones. Its ability to withstand saltwater, sunlight, and heavy foot traffic makes it a preferred choice for marine professionals and boat enthusiasts alike. Furthermore, Flexiteek can also be used in non-marine environments, such as outdoor terraces and pool areas, thanks to its slip-resistant and weatherproof properties.
